These days, financial enterprises including the banks and NBFIs require sound financial risk analysis and management frameworks and tools that satisfy compliance demands, contribute to better decision making and enhance performance.
As a result, the purpose of the workshop is to familiarize the participants with such risk analysis, modeling and forecasting techniques that may help them in assessing and measuring risks in the banking sector of Pakistan in general and of their institution in particular. Due to concentration of credit risk, more emphasis is placed on modeling default probabilities and eventually leading to stress testing.
In addition to the understanding of the credit risk models, the workshop is designed to help participants employ the modeling tools to analyze and quantify credit risk. Participants are required to bring their laptops so that they are able to construct models of their own using latest statistical and econometric software including EViews and R. The workshop therefore aims analysts and mid-level professionals working the area of risk management having some intermediate knowledge of statistics and is eager to learn EViews and R applications.
